Battleground: Florida
June has been a very busy month for me. With school out, I was given a break from campus work and spent the month helping a local SC pro-life group named Created Equal. We knocked on thousands of doors, encouraging pro-life voters to vote for candidates in the SC primary who are truly, wholeheartedly pro-life. I worked heavily in support of Josiah Magnuson and Thomas Beach. God blessed our efforts, and we saw a huge pro-life win in the primaries! We also saw several republicans who have previously voted to block pro-life bills be soundly defeated. Life won very big in SC and I believe that abortion will soon be banned here, God willing.
My next assignment is Florida. Florida has an upcoming abortion referendum this November. Top pro-life minds and leaders agree that this referendum is massively important for two reasons: First, if the voters choose life, it will be a mandate for legislators to pass stronger bills or get rid of abortion entirely. But if the voters choose abortion, it will protect abortion all the way until birth. Second, losing the referendum in Florida would be a huge blow to the pro-life movement and we’ll probably see a lot of pro-lifers leave the fight entirely. We’ve lost a lot of states since Roe was overturned, and losing a state as conservative as Florida will be the final straw for a lot of outnumbered, beleaguered and discouraged pro-life fighters.
Because of how critical Florida is, we’re throwing a lot of resources and energy into the state before the election. My organization will be showing the humanity of the preborn through top notch prenatal pictures on prominent billboards and TV. My job will be the other side of the coin: showing the inhumanity of abortion. I’ll be driving a large truck all over the state. The truck has panels with impossible-to-miss pictures of abortion victims. Because of how strategically important this is, I’m bracing for severe spiritual warfare during this time and your prayers would be very, VERY appreciated. The believers in Florida who are currently fighting for life have been experiencing significant hostility and resistance, especially from law enforcement.
I could also use your help. Because this is an election year and we have several big projects happening, we’re spread pretty thin on resources. Florida is crucial, but I won’t be able to afford two months at an Airbnb. If you live in Florida or know someone who does, I will need places to stay (with parking for a huge truck!) while I’m there. There will probably be other expenses since I probably won’t be able to be as cost-efficient with meals. I’ve currently raised about 40% of my monthly support, but Florida is too important to stay home and not get involved. Your help would make an extra large impact right now.
